The River Nile Learning Centre Inc (RNLC) and River School Inc (RNS) are both not-for-profit incorporated associations, ACNC registered charities and endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office for charity tax concessions and as a Deductible Gift Recipients.
The RN Learning Centre provides education services to non-school age, refugee and asylum seeker women. RNLC depends 100% on grants, donations and fundraising.
Through philanthropic grants, RNLC employs an EAL teachers (on a part-time, casual basis) to cater for adult learners and students without study rights or in our non-VCAL program.
RNLC’s Director and tutors all volunteer their time to support RNLC programs.
For all other aspects of our operations, we’re heavily reliant on funding from private sources including individuals donations, corporate grants and fundraising.
The RN School receives government education funding to sustain core costs for senior-secondary school-age students. The School is not permitted to provide services to non-school age students. Donations which flow to the RN School will primarily support student welfare, specialist programs and childcare.
Both entities offer all services free-of-charge to ALL students, as they are among the most disadvantaged in our community and unable to contribute to the cost of their education.
We are especially in needs of funding to sustain our childcare service, student welfare, specialist programs such as Work Readiness, Driving and Swimming, and the RNLC EAL teacher and rent.
We gratefully accepts donations and cash contributions as:
- One-off donations
- Recurring donations e.g. monthly, quarterly
