The River Nile School addresses the unique education needs of young refugee and asylum seeker school age women.
Our VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning) Programs are designed for students having difficulties with the literacy and numeracy demands of a large school setting or who have disengaged from mainstream school. Our highly experienced, EAL (English as an Additional Language) qualified teachers, combined with our small class sizes and individual learning plans, give our students every opportunity to achieve their potential. Our VCAL Program is fee-free. For women who are mothers of young children we offer free childcare on-site.
Prospective students and their parents or carers and referring schools and agencies can read more information about our program at this link rns-vcal-program-2017-vc or telephone (03) 9329 8425 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The River Nile Learning Centre was established in 2006 and successfully delivered VCAL for 8 years through a partnership with Mount Alexander College. It has won the Victorian Multicultural Commission award for Excellence in Education. It has been approved by the VRQA (Victorian Registration and Qualification Authority) to become the River Nile School from 2017 and will offer its own standalone VCAL Courses. RNLC’s website and email servers are being used until new sites for the River Nile School are constructed.
