Farewell and Thank You to the NAB Mentors!

Over three months, six young women from NAB have mentored our students on a fortnightly basis. Everyone at River Nile is thankful for the time that the mentors have given to helping our students successfully achieve outcomes in their Work Related Skills VCAL module. Mentoring sessions included activities such as filling out work forms/applications, completing CV templates, understanding workplace communication and discussing career goals.  The students had the opportunity to visit the NAB headquarters at Docklands to see a workplace in action. This was a very valuable experience for our students as many have never had access to or had experience in a professional business environment.

The women from NAB have also generously donated  new books for our students. The books that NAB have donated to us fill a much needed gap in providing content aimed at adults while remaining at a graded educational level that is appropriate for our students. As always, we are grateful for their generosity and for all of their assistance!

Due to the great success of this program we are investigating the possibility of running a further mentoring block in fourth term!
